Brief background

Amardeep Kahlon received her PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Science and Advanced Technology from Binghamton University in New York. She had earlier earned several degrees from institutions in India: a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in English Literature and Economics from MCMDAV College in Chandigarh; a Bachelor of Mass Communication degree from Punjab University in Chandigarh; and a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Business from University Business School at Punjab. Amardeep’s research interests include computer science teaching, gender diversity, and higher education administration.

At the time of this interview, Amardeep Kahlon was a full professor of computer studies at Austin Community College, where she began teaching in 1996. As we recorded this interview, she was set to embark on a one-year position as Dean of Academics at BML Munjal University in New Delhi, India.
